LiDAR Field Capacity for Land Surveying Firms
Expand field capacity without expanding your permanent crew. Utah LiDAR provides project-based LiDAR and RTK data collection coordinated around your control, specifications, coordinate system, and deliverable requirements.
Your Professional Land Surveyor maintains professional oversight and final review. We provide the dense field data and preliminary outputs needed to keep the project moving.
Why survey firms use Utah LiDAR
More Field Capacity. Less Project Backlog.
Large topographic sites, stockpile yards, difficult terrain, and tight schedules can overwhelm conventional field capacity. Utah LiDAR helps surveying firms collect dense site data quickly without purchasing specialized equipment or diverting crews from higher-value work.
We can support a defined portion of the project or handle the LiDAR acquisition and processing workflow from field collection through agreed preliminary deliverables.
We work behind licensed survey firms, not in competition with them. You keep the client relationship, the professional judgment, and the seal — we bring the aircraft, the sensor, and the field time.
Every dataset is tied to your project control and delivered in the formats your crew and CAD team already use, so it drops straight into your existing workflow.

How we help
What Land Surveying Firms Get From Us
Overflow field capacity
Add aerial collection when your crews are booked, without hiring or buying a LiDAR payload.
Your control, your datum
We tie to your project control or set RTK control with an Emlid base and rover on your coordinate system.
Preliminary, not certified
Data is delivered as supporting material for your PLS to review, verify, and stamp.
Coverage where crews are slow
Steep, vegetated, or hazardous ground gets mapped in hours instead of days on the ground.

Common questions
Land Surveying Firms LiDAR FAQs
Can Utah LiDAR work under the direction of our PLS?
Yes. That is the normal arrangement. Your Professional Land Surveyor defines the scope, accuracy expectations, and control, and retains professional oversight and final review of everything we deliver.
Can LiDAR services be provided on a white-label basis?
Yes. Data can be delivered to your firm for use under your name and your seal, with no direct contact or branding presented to your client unless you request it.
Do you provide raw data, processed data, or both?
Both. Some firms want raw and classified point clouds to process in house; others want surfaces, contours, breaklines, and preliminary linework. The split is set in the scope before mobilization.
Can you use our existing survey control?
Yes. We can tie to control your crew has already set, or establish RTK control and checkpoints ourselves on your coordinate system and datum.
What coordinate systems and file formats do you support?
Projects are delivered on the state plane zone, local, or grid system you specify, with the datum and units you use. Common formats include LAS/LAZ, DWG, DXF, LandXML, CSV, and PDF exhibits.
How do you protect our client relationships?
We work as a subcontractor to survey firms and do not solicit their clients for competing survey services. The client relationship stays with your firm.
Can you provide RTK support without LiDAR?
Yes. RTK checkpoint collection, control support, and feature densification can be scoped on their own when a flight is not required.
Which states can you mobilize to?
Utah is home, and we mobilize to Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Montana. Out-of-state work is quoted with travel included.
